not that it matters because he is a trophy of a lifetime, what did he tape out at. incredible story with a blessed ending. congrats!
I would have to be wearing Depends underwear to make it through that Monster Moose harvest! Congratulations on a great Trophy hunt. 😊
I would have to be wearing Depends underwear to make it through that Monster Moose harvest! Congratulations on a great Trophy hunt. 😊
Haha! Thank you!
Tell us how you shot this bull without telling you shot this bull lmao. You got camera of the shot but without you in it. Smh
Would you have rather watched me or the elk? Or did you miss the scenes with me and the bull in the same frame? I am confused by your comment?
One summer as a college kid working on the Great Northern Railroad, I had the privilege to be in Dixon, Polson, St. Regis and the most Spectacular scenery I've only imagined! I always wished I had God's life directions there! However, you give me reprieve! Keep it up Montana Mountain Man!
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
second time bear was like: wtf this stalker again? i will wipe his ass
interesting to hear how exactly a bear attack happen...most people cant talk about it anymore.
This is Chuck Norris’s cousin. Attacked by bear and still managed drive himself to the hospital. 😲😮
Really enjoyed this film Jason , congratulations on your amazing bull , he looked like a real ol mature battler .
Your allowing us into both your high country and even your special cabin with your Mom's bear is so appreciated. As a young Texas college student, I worked summers on the railroad for the old Great Northern and Northern Pacific mostly around Wyoming and Western Montana. I would start in Billings and go to Bozeman, Missoula and etc. when I view your hunts it brings me back to that special Big Sky High Country! We saw tons of all types of wildlife and breathtaking scenery from the rail, as most could never see otherwise. If I ever hit the lotto, I'll be a neighbor somewhere in the High County! I love your style and channel. Blessings in your journey. JohnMark
Thank you! I really appreciate the messages!
Thanx 4 the video man ...❤
My pleasure!
You got bear spray and a high powered handgun and a grizz is at full charge ...and you pick the bear spray?? NOSIR im not taking that chance !!! Its at a charge i may give it a second but once it gets less than 50 yards and still coming im firing!!! They close that distance FAST so you gotta make best shot you can and preferably a couple follow ups as well if you can ..id at least have nothing less than 10mm loaded with stout hardcast rounds at the least ..preferably a 12 gauge with some badass slugs or a high powered rifle or something extra mean for that stopping power ..either way this guy is lucky hes alive and i wouldnt ever wanna take thay ride and be at the mercy of a pissed off grizz ..shew!!! Nightmare scenario...grizz dont care son!!! We are nothing compared to !!!
Pistol first, Bear spray not needed! I do understand your ethical procedures, yet in life or death threats, shoot and save yourself and then let game and fish try to locate cubs, etc. What an episode turned for the best in your life. And yes, none of us outdoorsmen know what we'd do unless we were you! No disrespect for your very vigilant choices. And, thank God above, You and bear family won! Better than Hugh Glass episode! 😮
That bear probably had two jobs and her cubs were nagging her about something while her useless estranged husband was off enjoying himself in a stream
Good job
Awesome video. What's the song?
I live in South Texas now but have never hunted there. Recommendations on where to look for a aoudad archery hunt?
That's an Overwhelming Trophy! That's a dream come true! So proud of you!
This is man is built much differently than the average human with a mental and physical toughness that is off the scale.
Awesome story for a giant!
Thank you!
Let me help you with this video stop putting music in it and stop showing off just hunt
I killed the biggest bull of my life after a great stalk. How should I hunt different? Haha. Sorry if you don't like the music, can't please everyone I guess. Overall I get a pile of compliments on the music and one or two negative. But you'll always have those one or two. I'll take it!
Come on include the shot it’s a part of the hunt and shouldn’t be filtered out.
In most cases I'd agree with you but I made the judgement that I wouldn't help tell the story any better. This was the cleanest classiest way to depict the hunt for the reason I appreciate. Thank you for watching and for your opinion though, I really appreciate it.
Do you need e-bike to assist you in hunting? Birch will coming soon • 160Nm Torque: Conquers slopes up to 30° • 26’’ x 4’’ Puncture-Proof Fat Tires • Shimano 9-Speed Derailleur System • 48V 20Ah Battery: Up to 100 miles per charge • 6061 Aluminum Alloy Frame: Supports up to 400 lbs • 180mm Opposed Dual-Piston Hydraulic Brakes • Dual 750W Motors • 180mm Dual Suspensions: Smooth riding experience
I always enjoy your videos. The production quality is always top notch. And thank you for the work you do with the Mule Deer Foundation.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the compliment!
Love your work! The videography, editing and story telling is just amazing. Thank you for sharing
Thanks so much! I am stoked you enjoy it!
...Why the potty mouth around your kids and other kids that may watch? Go back and edit please!
Thank you for tuning in and watching the episode. I appreciate the feedback and can assure you I wouldn't cuss around my children or put out anything with fowl language. It wouldn't be accepted on national television otherwise which is where all of these episodes end up before they appear on UA-cam. I believe you are hearing something different than what is actually said. Or are you seeing it in the subtitles? The UA-cam generated subtitles can be inaccurate many times and that is out of my control.
@@jasonmatzingerofficial What I believe I heard was just as you discovered the dead antelope at the beginning! I hope I'm wrong.
It was a @4:21 I was wrong, and I apologize for my mistake I'm sorry that I posted that Please forgive me.
What a Super Royal Trophy Elk! Great stalk and top pin perfect shot! I would love to have been there with you! Great video.😊
Thank you!
You’re living the dream, my friend!
Absolutely!
Hell of a shot Jason, those Axis are 2.0 skittish. Great video and keep up the fine work!
They really are! Thank you!
Great season Jason, definitely one that will be hard to top, but a guy can always try!😉 Appreciate your postive outlook when your hunting, and striving to work harder when things dont always work out the way a guy thought they should, because that's when success happens most of the time. Loved when your son shot his buck and you commented how much pride you had as a father. Seeing your boys and your dad enjoy the success of a hunt is special in my book, and reminds me of days gone with my dad and brother. Keep up the great work Jason, your a class act and please share some of your sheep luck with me please. Take care
Thank you so much!
Your videos are great! Do you do your own editing? The intro music is bomb!!!
I do most all the editing yes! Thank you!
You know this man is really something. Was attacked by a grizzly bear *TWICE* in the span of a few minutes, is able to hike back to his truck, is worried about other people running into the mother grizzly and tries to write a note, is able to drive himself to a ranger house, and when the ranger offers to drive him to the hospital, he refuses and insists he can drive because he doesn’t want to get his *blood on the man’s truck seats???* Man is something special. A great man, we need more men like him.
Awesome video Jason! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations! What a beautiful bull and special hunt.
Thank you very much!
It sure was one hell of a season! Can’t wait for the next one from you. Your video work and narrations make it beyond just a video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
What a dream season indeed from start to finish. Happy for you Jason. Hopefully 🤞🏻 I will get experience one of those type hunts this year and the many years to come.
Thank you sir and best of luck out there!
Great season.
Thank you!
what in the hell was that shot angle? then saying "I just buried that" just another westie doing it for the gram.
A hard quartering away angle is a western thing? I was taught that to be a great shot angle as a kid. Either way, the deer didn't go anywhere even though I did hit slightly off where I intended. I have been documenting hunting before Instagram or Facebook was even a thing so that is not a very valid statement. Thank you for sharing your opinion though and best of luck this season!
Early in the video you mention watching Guy Eastman movies. He inspired a whole generation on how to make outdoor films. I feel that with your films, and the quality in which you make them, you are inspiring a whole new generation on what an outdoor film should be today. Well done sir. Thanks.
That really means a lot. Thank you!
Super job and no doubt someone that I would have loved to have met. Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
Always excellent work Jason, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Just Fantastic...Love the boys hunting...Thanks for the season recap!!
You bet! It is my pleasure!
Jason, I've tried to think of proper words to describe your work. There are many, like quality, beautiful, exciting, and professional, but for me what sets you apart is 'reality'. What I see is real hunting, with all the feelings and emotions that I've experienced over the past 65 years-plus of hunting those same animals. No rock concert or rapid fire scene changes, just great videography and story telling that lets young and old feel what real hunting is about. Thank you for giving us that.
I really appreciate this comment. Thank you so much for the support and compliments!
Good show again
Thank you!
It was a great season. Thanks for all the great stories and footage.
I second that.
Agree!
Thank you!! I really appreciate it!
Howdy Jason. AWESOME adventure! I wonder if you ever got his teeth aged? I don't know how old he was, but it is proof that some elk can live for a very long time. Thank you so much for your videos!
I love the way Asher looks at Dawson after the antelope shot! He definitely looks up to him! Awesome kiddos Jason! Great video!
Thank you! I am sure proud of them both.
Camera work is insane I felt like I was watching a movie
Awesome! Thank you!
I remember when this happened, it stuck with me
You interest me in that you stay after your prey like a grey wolf. You are not over anxious about your hunts and this proves why. You've committed to a standard of success and if no tag, then it's still a good hunt in the Great Wilderness we call home. You inspire me with your display in film of what real hunting is about...the entire adventure! Thank you Jason.
Thank you! I really appreciate the compliments and support!
